Installing fonts in Windows

Installing fonts in Windows Vista

Package the font archive, select the .ttf, .otf or .fon fonts that you want, and then right-click and choose Install from the context menu.

Installing fonts in other versions of Windows

Package the font archive and copy its contents to your system font folder. Most often this is found in C:\Windows\Fonts or C:\WinNT\Fonts.

You can also copy the contents of the archive to the system folder.

You can also access the fonts folder from the Control Panel by following these steps: Start - Control Panel - Fonts.

Installing fonts in MacOS X

Mac OS X recognizes True Type (.ttf) and Open Type (.otf) fonts, but does not recognize PC bitmap (.fon) fonts.

In order to install a font, you double-click it in the Finder and then click the Install button at the bottom of the preview.

Installing fonts in Linux

You must copy the .ttf and .otf fonts into fonts:// in the file manager, or /home/.fonts (this folder is hidden).
